Tommi Saltiola, an agrology student, has planted a special crop, oil hemp, on his family's farm this summer. They expect a hemp seed harvest from a one-hectare field. Hemp is durable and lighter than carbon fiber, making it a suitable material for various uses, including as a protein source for animal feed and as a food supplement. Hemp seeds have the right kind of fatty acids and can be used in diverse ways, such as in cooking, as horse bedding, or in smoothies and salads.
